Free pizza anyone?

One of my goals with this blog is to, from time to time, share my tips and tricks on living a thriftier lifestyle, since that is one of my many new jobs as CEO/CFO of Casa de Knights. And this one was so good and so easy, I couldn’t pass up sharing.

Papa Johns is running a promotion right now that you simply have to take advantage of. They created this website, where you can vote on the coin toss for Superbowl Sunday, heads or tails. If you guess right, you win a free, large, one-topping pizza.

Here’s the all-too-easy catch. It’s limited to one entry per person. BUT, it’s not limited to one person per household. So grab your significant other, or a friend you wouldn’t mind sharing a meal with, and go vote. One of you picks heads, the other tails. And you are guaranteed a free pizza after Superbowl Sunday! Pretty cool, huh?

Multiples Discounts

As if my life isn’t busy enough chasing after these three incredible boys, one of my pet projects these days is figuring out how to cut our budget, limit our spending, find deals on the things we need, and find ways to bring in a little extra cash. The reason why is all too simple. We went from a family of 3 on 2 incomes to a family of 5 on 1 income. I am living my dream by being a stay at home mom now, but if I want to be able to continue to stay home with my boys, I have to find ways to protect our bottom line.

Thanks to some fellow mothers of multiples, I learned a few months ago that many companies offer discounts or promotional products to families with multiples. So I got to work, creating a list of companies to contact, sending out letters, recording their responses, etc. I am including in this post a link to all of my findings. I didn’t contact everyone, and I didn’t hear back from everyone, but I think I now have a pretty comprehensive list of deals. Among the highlights, tons of diaper coupons (which we can always use!), free formula (which we didn’t use but passed along), even a $300 stroller that we only had to pay $40 shipping for!

If you are a parent of multiples reading this, I hope this list will help you to find savings for your family too. Just send a simple form letter to the company, but make sure you include copies of your children’s birth certificates. Here is what my form letter looked like:

To Whom It May Concern:

On April 24, 2012, my husband and I became the proud parents of twin boys, Benjamin and Alexander. We understand that your company offers promotional products (or coupons) to families with multiples. We would like to take advantage of this offer.

Enclosed are copies of birth certificates for our children. Thank you for your time, consideration, and support. We greatly appreciate it!

(and then I included my name and contact information here)

Here is the link to my spreadsheet with addresses and information, enjoy!!
